At Allsop & Francis we understand the high importance of laundry infection control, which is why all of our machines are designed to meet the infection control standards of the CQC and HSG95(18) Guidelines. We will always ensure that a site survey is carried out prior to supplying you with new equipment so that we can fully understand the requirements of each particular application and advise you accordingly so that you purchase the right machine for the job each and every time.

The CQC requires that all machines for use in laundry infection control must: have a sluice pre-wash cycle and reach a temperature of 65 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 10 minutes or 71 degrees Celsius for 3 minutes to ensure complete disinfection and sterilisation of the garments. These CQC infection control standards are applied to the laundry equipment we provide, ensuring these standards are met. We only provide the best machines for your laundry needs.

The HSG95(18) guidelines suggest certain tactics for ensuring effective laundry infection control. Below are the guidelines specific to laundry equipment:

• All laundry equipment must ensure special programming which enables the high temperatures (in line with CQC) required for disinfection. For machines below 0.056kg/litre, an extra four minutes must be added to the times or heavy loading machines may need an additional 8 minutes alongside a sluice cycle.
• Washing machines must have accurate heat sensors and be tested every six weeks. Records must also be kept from each test and check up.
